7 Mistakes that can cost you your seat during Neet Counseling

Every year we become a part of many people’s success stories. However, at the same counselling centres, we have also witnessed broken dreams. What pains us even more that their story could have been happy one too had they not committed very small but common errors. Below we are sharing with you seven most common mistakes that have spoiled many dreams.

  • Relying too much on previous years patterns

Relying on data is right; however, usually, when a client looks at information, it is often one dimensional. They usually only look at previous year ranks and cut-offs and plan for counselling accordingly. However, many other factors influence cut-offs and decide who finally gets the seat. Looking at past years, data alone can give them a false sense of confidence, which can lead to grave mistakes.

  • Taking Emotional Decisions

It’s not uncommon for students who are friends to fill forms for the same colleges. Especially when their scores are identical. But we know how much difference a single mark can make in deciding whether you will get admission in a particular college or not. The filling of the form should be treated as a rational based process and not an emotional one.

In a survey we did last year, we were surprised to find that 76% of students felt confused while filling counselling forms. More than half of them felt they made mistakes in filling the form that has cost them either money or opportunity or both.

  • Getting wrong advice

Free advice is everywhere. Especially from people who are indirectly related to NEET, like coaching centres, tuition teachers are asked for their opinion. While we do not dispute their calibre in their own domain. However, their advice is mostly based on intuition and not facts, and we all know intuition can be wrong many a time. Working with admission Funda, on the other hand, is scientific and data-based, which means we do not depend on intuition alone.

  • Lack of awareness about less known colleges

There are deemed universities and colleges that are not very famous, they have their own rules and criteria for admitting students. Also, sometimes there is a lack of clarity about their affiliation status. Not having complete information may mean bad decisions as well as lost opportunities. Admission Funda has full details on all such colleges.

  • Trying to do everything by themselves

We all have done this. Sometimes when we are not sure of the way, instead of asking for directions, we don’t mind taking ten wrong turns. While driving this may not cost a lot, but a similar mistake during NEET counselling can cost you a year. Staying on top of real-time changes happening in 15-20 different colleges requires a team, not an individual or a family.
